On Tues. May 4th, Chief Dave Saur and Jim Lechner of the Chili Fire Dept. attended the Brockport Fire Dept's. general meeting, to thank the officers and firefighters for their very generous support of Operation Wounded Warrior.
The Brockport members contributed $1,000 and the Brockport Fire Dept. donated $300 worth of gift cards for the wounded warriors families. The $1,000 was used by BFD. to have BFD t-shirts, sweat shirts and pants, knit hats, fleece jackets and turtleneck shirts made for the wounded warriors, who reside at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Chief Dave Saur and Jim Lechner presented Certificates of Appreciation from the Commanding Officer at WRAMC to the Brockport Fire Dept. and their generous members. Military Coins of Excellence from the Commanding Officer at WRAMC were presented to Brockport Chief Scott Smith and Capt. Ken Smith for their leadership and "getting the job done".
A cased American flag, that had flown in Kabul, Afghanistan, in the face of the enemy, along with a Certificate of Authenticity, was also presented to the Brockport Fire Dept. by LTC James Lechner, USARMY, SOC., himself a wounded warrior, in appreciation of their support and generosity of Operation Wounded Warrior.
The Chili Fire Dept. applauds our brother firefighters for their sincere support of Operation Wounded Warrior.
