Vehicle Flipped King Road

Wednesday, October 19, 2011  The Chili Fire Department responded this afternoon for a reported vehicle on its side with a possible person trapped in front of 51 King Road. 4319 and 4C-13 arrived on scene with a vehicle on its side and no one trapped. The assignment was held to 4320 and the crew secured the vehicle hazards and assisted with packaging one patient who was transported to the hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation. 

     



 

WTC Artifact Brought To Chili

Wednesday, October 12, 2011  A piece of the World Trade Center made its way to Chili last night finishing its journey in the pouring rain and arriving at Chili company one. Three of our firefighters John Spaulding, Brandon McCaughey and Mark Smith left Wednesday evening heading for the JFK hangar where the World Trade Center artifacts are stored. This is a one-ton, 16’ long "H" beam from the north tower that was located somewhere above the 60th floor. The department spent two years trying to bring the beam to Chili as what will become part of a memorial. This memorial will honor the 343 fallen firefighters that died that day on 9/11. In the near future this will be on display for all to look at. 

     



 

MVA Rt. 490 And Chili Center Coldwater Road

Wednesday, September 28, 2011  The Chili Fire Department responded this afternoon for a reported MVA Route 490 and Chili Center Coldwater Road. 4C-53 went on location with a one vehicle MVA with a light post down on the west bound feeder ramp to Chili Center Coldwater Road. The crew of 4312 secured the vehicle hazards and the CVAS Ambulance evaluated one patient. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

     



 

MVA Stottle Road And Morgan Road

Tuesday, September 27, 2011  The Chili Fire Department responded early this morning mutual aid to Clifton for a reported two car MVA with a vehicle into the house at the intersection of Morgan Road and Stottle Road. 4C-14 and 4412 arrived on location and reported a two vehicle MVA with a SUV into the house with multiple victims and a person trapped. 4C14 requested four additional ambulances to the scene. The Chili response for the incident was 4C-13, 4312, 4322 and 4338. The firefighters from both departments secured the vehicle hazards and help the ambulances package up the victims. Fire police from both departments closed down Morgan Road and Stottle Road for a period of time. The cause of the accident is under investigation.   

     



 

Celebrate Churchville Chili

Friday, September 16, 2011  The Chili Fire Department and the Churchville Fire Department teamed up Friday night for an event at the Churchville Chili High School stadium. The event is called “Celebrate Churchville-Chili” a district wide gathering to kick off the 2011-2012 school year. This event was open to all of the children from K to 12th grade. The night was full of games, face painting, robotics demonstrations and the second ping pong blast. Churchville Fire Department supplied a pumper and a table of fire prevention materials for the event and the kids had a chance to climb all over there truck. Chili supplied there ladder truck and dropped over 1000 different colored ping pong balls with numbers on them from 65’ up and the object was for the kids to collect them to win prizes. It was a fun night for all.  

     



 

MVA Talos Way and Paul Road

Friday, September 16, 2011  The Chili Fire Department responded late this afternoon for a reported MVA at the intersection of Talos Way and Paul Road. 4C-243 and 4312 went on location and reported a two vehicle MVA with injuries and that a door needs to be popped. 4312 and 4332 secured the vehicle hazards while the CVAS Ambulance and Gates Ambulance transported the victims to the hospital. The Fire Police also responded to shut the road down between Red Bud Road and Marshal Road. The cause of the accident in under investigation.

     



 

Level 0 Haz Mat

Monday, September 12, 2011  The Chili Fire Department responded this afternoon for a fuel tank that fell off the vehicle after being filled at the Mobil Gas Station located at the corner of Chili Avenue and Chili Center Coldwater Road. Command requested a level 0 haz mat response for a large amount of fuel leaking from the tank. The crew of 4312 mitigated the situation.

     



 

9/11 Remembrance Prayer Service

Sunday, September 11, 2011  The Chili Fire Department attended the 9/11 remembrance prayer service this evening at the Cultural Life Center on the Roberts Wesleyan College Campus. The Chili Fire Department and the Gates Fire District both provided aerial trucks to fly the flag for the service. Around 700 were in attendance for the service.

Monroe County Storm Deployment

Saturday, September 10, 2011  The two Chili firefighters Keith Schwab and John Donovan along with Car 804 Chris Fish returned Saturday evening from Broome County. They were deployed early Thursday morning from the P.S.T.F to assist in the State of emergency caused by all the flooding in upstate New York. They spent 72 hours pumping out basements roadways and running calls for the local departments.
