The Chili Fire Department held its 2nd coloring contest in the Chili area elementary schools. Florence Brasser, Paul Rd, St. Pius and Chestnut Ridge Rd Schools participated. We received a great collection of pictures from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders and the winners on the contest each received a ride on the fire truck.
It is a great learning experience for the children to take a few moments and creatively think about safety in their home. The Chili Fire Department visits each school in the fall to talk to the kids about fire safety. It is great to see the kids color a picture reflecting what they have learned. Hopefully this information stays with them for a lifetime and creates a safer atmosphere in the home.
