This past week the Chili Fire Department had the chance to do some live training evolutions on this old 2-1/2 story residential house that was converted into four apartments in later years thanks to the Pearce Memorial Church who is in the process of demoing two houses on Orchard Street.
The department had this rare opportunity that does not happen often anymore to train in this type of environment especially for our newer members. The crews charged the house with fake smoke along with setting room and contents fires on the second floor where they had to advance a handline in to knock the fire down. The members also trained in search and rescue, initial fire attack, water supply, accountability and roof ventilation. Here are some pictures from the event.
